Dunglass Estate – Shoot Session

I travelled up to the Dunglass Estate in Scotland to attend Thrive a two day wedding photography conference run by Lisa Devlin of Photography Farm.

THRIVE CONFERENCE SHOOT SESSION WITH ESME WHITESIDE

The Details

It was absolutely mind blowing, a day of learning from some of the industry’s leaders sharing their knowledge and skills followed by a day of Dunglass Estate shoot sessions with the mentors. It was so lovely to spend some time hanging out meeting incredible photographers from all around the world.

Dunglass Estate

Ancient woodlands, landscaped gardens which include the beautiful 15th century Dunglass Collegiate Church.

Dunglass Collegiate Church

I had an opportunity to watch and learn from the insanely talented Esme Whiteside, during her talk she had said she has always been inspired by the Dutch masters and that she wanted her work to look like oil paintings. The shoot session began in the ruined church, then we made our way through the grounds finishing up in the long grass. Shoots like this are a great way to work in ways I wouldn’t normally, pushing myself out of my comfort zone, trying new styles and getting really creative with the shots.

HUGE THANKS TO LISA, THE SPEAKERS AND THE AMAZING TEAM AT PHOTOGRAPHY FARM!
